| a nazarene is what jesus was, so was samson. a nazarene could not cut his hair or beard, could not drink wine ,or touch the dead. I am tired of the mel gibson and dan brown explanations, when my research remains ignored. "the Nazarenes, by robert l. gibson" at amazon.com will provide proof of truth of jesus's life, and the codes that are hidden by the church. will explain these free, to any that write me, such as the meaning of the fish in christianity and astrology. how the wise men knew of his coming, and much more. will be glad to argue if necessary.this work debunks much of what we read in the new testament. jews had to be secretive then. I provide the secrets. |

I'm game. I do not believe Jesus even existed (as myths dated much earlier resemble the Jesus story remarkably well). But, it would be interesting to hear about your research. |

Sir Gibson,
Pleased to have you here.
I'm sorry to disagree with some of your views sir, but please do not confuse the two words, namely: Nazarene and Nazirite. I may be an ex-christian but I believe (based on my personal research) that there's a world of difference between the two.
Allow me to explain:
First, the Jesus (Y'shua) of the Judeo-Christian scriptures was called a NazaRENE simply because he: "dwelt in a city called Nazareth (which by clear definition means "sprout-town)" thus he came to be knows as a Nazarene.
Samson, on the other hand, took a NazaRITE vow, and like you've said it is forbidden for one who took that vow to trim "his hair or beard," to "drink wine ,or touch the dead."
The Nazirite laws are all recorded at Numbers 6:1-7.
Samson's in Judges 13:5.
Jesus evidently didn't took this "vow" since everyone knows he performed a miracle by transforming water into wine at the Wedding at Cana, and even drank wine on certain occasions.
And all these are recorded on John 2; Matthew 11:19 & Luke 7:34.
One thing more I wish to add is that primitive Jews do not wear their hair long as is depicted in the common paintings of "jesus" which is nothing but a figment of man's creative imagination.
But don't just take my word for it.
Listen to what one Jewish Author has to say:
| Quote: | "Giving Jesus long hair is actually anti-scriptural, for the Apostle Paul assumes this when he states: 'Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him?' (1st Corinthians 11:14).
I only say this because so many young Christians (and older ones too!), have long hair. Among the Jews, long hair was a symbol of rebellion. And if we make Jesus out to have long hair, aside from symbolizing that He was in rebellion, could not they rightfully insist that 'if Jesus has it, why can't I?!'"

Well regarding the "fish," wasn't that one of the earliest emblems used by primitive christians as a sign to identify who their breathen was?
(asides from the grapevine, the chalice and the anchor)?
And there was this Greek acronym engraved within the emblem "ICHTOUS," which, being transliterated reads: Iesou Christus Theos Huios Soter, Ie: "Jesus Christ God's Son our Saviour."
Just some of the things I've learned from "xtian gradeschool"
Although I've absolutely no knowledge how the fish ever came to be connected with astrology. Some theosophical knowledge could help a bit, I guess.
Will be happy to hear more of it though.
Cheers,
Rai
